Solar Solution
Sushil Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), SJVN, heads the company which commissioned the largest floating solar project in central and north India and the biggest solar park in India, generating 90 MW energy at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. The floating solar project, at a cost of Rs.6.46 billion, was developed under the Ministry of Renewable Energy. The project is executed by SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN. On commissioning of the project, the total installed capacity of SJVN has increased to 2,466.50 MW. The project is likely to generate 196.5 million units of electricity in the first year and 4,629.3 million units in 25 years. After commissioning, the project will reduce carbon emissions by 0.23 million tonnes and contribute significantly to the government’s mission of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070. The project, on the backwaters of Omkareshwar dam, will also help in water conservation by reducing water evaporation.

The plant will become the company’s second-largest manufacturing facility globally and its largest manufacturing facility in India when completed. In 2023, Lubrizol announced its most significant investment in its over 50-year history in the region in the form of a USD 150 million pledge. That investment supports the construction of the world’s largest CPVC resin plant in Vilayat, Gujarat, the doubling of capacity at Lubrizol’s site in Dahej, Gujarat, opening of a grease lab in Navi Mumbai and additional in-country job growth and innovation. Lubrizol is
a global supplier of chemical additive technologies.
