Solar Solution
Sushil Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), SJVN, heads the company which commissioned the largest floating solar project in central and north India and the biggest solar park in India, generating 90 MW energy at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. The floating solar project, at a cost of Rs.6.46 billion, was developed under the Ministry of Renewable Energy. The project is executed by SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN. After commissioning, the project will reduce carbon emissions by 0.23 million tonnes and contribute significantly to the government’s mission of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070. The project, on the backwaters of Omkareshwar dam, will also help in water conservation by reducing water evaporation.
