L&T Construction bags Rs 2,309 cr contracts

In the last October and this November, engineering major L&T Construction has bagged orders worth Rs 2,309 crore across various business segments. The transportation infrastructure business has got a major order worth Rs 694 crore from Kannur International Airport for construction of a greenfield airport’s air side works near Kannur city in Kerala. The company said on November 7 that the scope of the contracts includes design, engineering and construction of earth work and pavements for runway, basic strips, turning pads, taxiways, apron, access roads, drainage system, related retaining structures, formation platform for land-side facilities along with airfield ground lighting system, visual aids for navigation and bird hazard reduction system. The Kannur International Airport order is a plus mark to the company’s international airport construction expertise, matching global standards in line with Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai International airports. The company has also received orders in the businesses of power transmission & distribution, buildings & factories, and heavy civil infrastructure.
