Uttarakhand to pay Rs 75 cr to NHPC

Power Ministry has asked the Uttarakhand Government to pay Rs 75 crore to NHPC to resume work on the 420 MW Lakhwar Vyasi multi purpose project on the Yamuna river. The move came despite the Uttarakhand Government’s objection that only Rs 43.184 crore had been authenticated by the NHPC. Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (UJVNL), which was allotted the project in 2009, was ready to pay NHPC Rs 43.184 crore that had been authenticated by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) through its audited account.

VE Commercial Vehicles Reports 13.2% Sales Growth in October

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV)—a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors—recorded sales of 8,050 units in October 2025, up 13.2 per cent from 7,112 units in October 2024. The tally includes 7,771 Eicher brand units and 279 Volvo brand units. Eicher-branded trucks and buses posted sales of 7,771 units in October 2025 against 6,911 units a year earlier, reflecting 12.4 per cent growth.
