The Central Railway has received approval from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Heritage Committee for the Mumbai CSMT reconstruction project. The site will be converted into a 21st century multimodal integration hub, and the station will be restored to its 1930s glory, over 120 years after it was built. The concept also calls for the separation of arriving and outgoing passengers, as well as the transformation of the station into a divyang-friendly hub with improved services.
