Loftness launches 24SG Stump Ax; low-flow excavators

Loftness, a renowned name in equipment attachments, has introduced its latest innovation, the 24SG Stump Ax stump grinder attachment. Specifically designed for lower-flow skid steers and excavators, this cutting-edge tool features a compact 24-inch cutting wheel, catering to machines with hydraulic flows ranging from 17 to 35.9 gallons per minute and hydraulic horsepower between 30- 80. Powered by a robust 110cc high-torque radial piston motor, the 24SG Stump Ax promises ample power and rapid recovery rates, ensuring efficient stump grinding operations. Building upon the success of its predecessor, the original Stump Ax, this new iteration retains a rigid mount configuration, allowing operators to maximise productivity by repositioning the carrier instead of swinging the cutting wheel. The attachment's angled hitch and forward-reaching boom enhance operator visibility, facilitating precise and controlled manoeuvring during operation. Innovative design elements such as cut-outs on the Phantom Wheel create a transparent effect, enhancing visibility and operational efficiency. Equipped with high-strength Leonardi Tomahawk teeth, the 24SG ensures swift and efficient cutting, while a chain deflector helps contain wood chips during discharge. Operators have the flexibility to choose between a universal skid steer mount and a custom excavator mount, with or without pins, catering to diverse equipment configurations and preferences. Key specifications of the Loftness 24SG Stump Ax include a 24-inch wheel diameter, 30 teeth, hydraulic horsepower range of 30-80, hydraulic motor displacement of 110cc, hydraulic flow range of 17-35.9 gallons per minute, and a maximum psi of 5,000. With dimensions of 48 inches in height, 56.5 inches in length, and 57.25 inches in width, the attachment weighs 579 pounds (base unit/no mount) and 1,015 pounds (with skid loader mount). The introduction of the Loftness 24SG Stump Ax signifies a milestone in the realm of stump grinding attachments, offering unparalleled performance, versatility, and efficiency for operators across various industries. Handling concrete better

Efficiently handling the transportation and placement of concrete is essential to help maintain the quality of construction, meet project timelines by minimising downtimes, and reduce costs – by 5 to 15 per cent, according to Sandeep Jain, Director, Arkade Developers. CW explores what the efficient handling of concrete entails.Select wellFirst, a word on choosing the right equipment, such as a mixer with a capacity aligned to the volume required onsite, from Vaibhav Kulkarni, Concrete Expert. “An overly large mixer will increase the idle time (and cost), while one that ..

Elevated floors!

Raised access flooring, also called false flooring, is a less common interiors feature than false ceilings, but it has as many uses – if not more.A raised floor is a modular panel installed above the structural floor. The space beneath the raised flooring is typically used to accommodate utilities such as electrical cables, plumbing and HVAC systems. And so, raised flooring is usually associated with buildings with heavy cabling and precise air distribution needs, such as data centres. That said, CW interacted with designers and architects and discovered that false flooring can come in handy ..

The Variation Challenge

A variation or change in scope clause is defined in construction contracts to take care of situations arising from change in the defined scope of work. Such changes may arise due to factors such as additions or deletions in the scope of work, modifications in the type, grade or specifications of materials, alterations in specifications or drawings, and acts or omissions of other contractors. Further, ineffective planning, inadequate investigations or surveys and requests from the employer or those within the project’s area of influence can contribute to changes in the scope of work. Ext..
