Teleo, Storm collaborate to debut autonomous snowplow

In a groundbreaking collaboration between Teleo and snow removal equipment distributor Storm Equipment, the debut of the first commercially available remote-operated and autonomous industrial snowplow in the US has been unveiled.

With the backing of RDO Equipment Co., a John Deere 332G skid steer loader underwent retrofitting with a Teleo Supervised Autonomy kit, enabling seamless remote and autonomous operation alongside a Storm Equipment Metal Pless snowplow.

Vinay Shet, Teleo's co-founder and CEO, emphasised the versatility of their technology, citing its suitability for commercial snow removal tasks, particularly in large parking lots and expansive flat surfaces where rapid clearing is essential to maintain business continuity during heavy snowfalls.

Beyond the snow removal sector, Teleo caters to clientele in construction and material moving industries, underscoring their commitment to broadening their global dealer network and customer base.

Shet highlighted the collaborative effort between Teleo and Storm Equipment as a game-changer, offering a more efficient and safer alternative for snow removal operations without necessitating the purchase of new machinery. This approach presents a pragmatic solution applicable to businesses of all sizes.

Teleo's technology empowers contractors to operate heavy equipment remotely, eliminating the need for an operator in the cab. This streamlined approach enables a single operator to oversee multiple machines from a centralised desk setting.

Upon installation of Teleo's retrofit kit, the machines are remotely supervised by an operator stationed in a central command center, enhancing operational control and safety compared to traditional on-site cab supervision.
