World's largest Ramayan Temple in Bihar to complete by 2025

The 'Ramayan temple' in Bihar would be taller than the Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia, which was built in the 12th century. The estimated cost of constructing the temple was said to be Rs 5 billion. It was expected that the construction work of the three-storeyed Viraat Ramayan temple would be completed by the end of 2025.

The temple would be constructed in the East Champaran district, approximately 120 km away from Patna. The construction would take place on 3.76 lakh sq ft of land located in the Kaithwalia-Bahuara villages.

The Ramayan temple was planned to have 12 domes, with the tallest dome measuring 270 ft in height. Additionally, there would be approximately 22 sanctum sanctorum dedicated to various deities, along with marriage halls and guest houses within the temple complex. According to the reports, the temple's overall measurements were projected to be 2,800 ft in length, 1,400 ft in width, and 405 ft in height. The temple would also house a 33-ft-high black granite Shivling, weighing around 200 tonnes.

The Shivling was being created in Mahabalipuram near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. An official stated that this Shivling would be the largest in the world and was expected to be completed by Mahashivratri in 2025.
