J&K Lt Guv releases details of projects worth Rs 1,555.16 cr

Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir has furnished a compendium disclosing details regarding 1,100 projects worth Rs 1,555.16 crore, completed by the Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC).

An official representative told the media that Sinha stressed the need for the completion of projects in addition to providing necessary precautions to prevent Covid-19 spread.

Sinha urged JKIDFC to take extensive measures for achieving completion of 1,000 more projects in the fiscal year 2021. He put forward the importance of regular monitoring of projects for their faster execution while also maintaining clarity in their completion by releasing the details regarding development works undertaken by Corporation to the public.

The release of compendiums to the public is to highlight the transparency and accountability in the working of the corporation. The compendiums will also be released in e-book format, an official spokesman told the media.

The spokesman added that the status of projects implemented by JKIDFC like geo-tagging, online billing and processing of payments, systems for oversight by senior functionaries, among others, can be viewed on its dashboard. The dashboard will be made public to avoid citizen’s overlooking.

Previously, the corporation had already published compendiums of 500 and 800 projects.

During the year 2019-20, JKIDFC had completed a total of 500 projects and completed 600 more projects during 2020-21.
