Airtel Expands 5G Network Across UP East With Over 4300 Sites

Bharti Airtel Limited (Airtel) has deployed more than 4,300 new 5G sites across UP East in the past 12 months, significantly strengthening network presence across the region. The large scale expansion was undertaken across 48 districts and aims to support digital access in urban centres, growth towns and remote rural villages. By adding an average of 12 new sites every day, Airtel has accelerated the roll out of high speed connectivity to improve performance for work, education, entertainment and digital payments.

The company reported that the expanded footprint covers 34 mn people and directly benefits customers in Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and Jhansi among other districts. The enhanced coverage is intended to enable seamless access to high speed 5G services for citizens, students, micro entrepreneurs, enterprises and government institutions across urban and rural markets. Airtel framed the rollout as part of efforts to build resilient digital infrastructure across eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Amit Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of Bharti Airtel, UP East, described UP East as among Airtel’s most strategic markets and said the expansion reflects a commitment to strengthening digital connectivity across the region. He indicated that the deployment of more than 4,300 sites over the year will enable growth, inclusion and innovation and that Airtel will continue sustained investments in advanced network infrastructure and expanded coverage. The company expects superior customer experiences as India moves towards a digital first future.

To complement network investments, Airtel offers a fully unlimited data plan for 28 days that provides unlimited 4G and 5G data across 24 hours along with unlimited calls in its Rs399 recharge pack for smartphone users. The plan is positioned for seamless streaming, studying and working without concerns about data limits. Sustained investments in network density across rural, semi-urban villages, highways, border areas and key economic and cultural corridors are intended to ensure robust, future ready connectivity even in high mobility and high usage zones.
