AMC Spends Rs 116.81 Bn on Development in FY 2024–25

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has significantly ramped up its development expenditure, clocking a record spend of Rs.11,681.77 crore in the financial year 2024–2025 — a 15% increase over the previous year’s figure of Rs 101.40 billion.

According to Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani, this year’s outlay covered a wide spectrum of infrastructure and urban improvement projects. Key allocations include ?544.94 crore for water supply, Rs 13.98 billion for drainage infrastructure, and ?268.30 crore for the development of Kharikat.

Other major investments included:

Rs 8.49 billion for water drainage projects

Rs 10.95 billion for white-topping roads and iconic roadworks

Rs 2.46 billion for new bridges

Rs 1.47 billion for the 375 MLD Vasana GRCP plant

This follows AMC’s historic 2023–24 milestone, when total spending exceeded Rs 100 billionfor the first time. With the 2024–25 budget surpassing even that, the city is poised for accelerated infrastructure development and urban transformation.
