HSVP To Procure 17,000 Acres in Gurugram Via E-Bhoomi Portal

Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) will procure 17,000 acres in Gurugram through the e-Bhoomi portal, according to the authority. The move is intended to consolidate land for planned urban development and infrastructure projects while using the state portal to access digital land records and streamline transactions. Officials indicated that the digital route is expected to speed up verification of titles and reduce procedural delays. The initiative follows wider efforts to modernise land administration across the state.

The e-Bhoomi system provides digitised land maps, registry entries and ownership histories that can be cross checked remotely, the authority added. Use of the portal is said to allow quicker issuance of necessary certificates and clearer audit trails, reducing the risk of disputes that can stall projects. The process will still require on ground surveys and statutory notices to affected landholders before final acquisition takes effect. Remote verification is expected to improve transparency for both the authority and landholders.

Consolidation of land at this scale will provide space for planned residential neighbourhoods, public amenities and transport corridors, planners noted. The authority has framed procurement as a step to meet rising demand for organised development while enabling integrated utilities and open spaces. Observers emphasised the importance of transparent valuation and timely compensation to minimise social disruption during the transition.

Implementation will require coordination among local bodies, revenue officials and planning agencies to align land use with regulatory frameworks and environmental considerations. The authority indicated that data from the e-Bhoomi portal will support mapping of tenure and encumbrance, informing mitigation measures and resettlement planning where necessary. Stakeholders expect that, if managed carefully, the procurement could accelerate delivery of infrastructure without compromising legal safeguards.
