Kailash Gahlot presents Budget for 2023-24 in Delhi Assembly

For the fiscal year 2023–2024, Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot presented a budget in the amount of $788,000,000,000 on Wednesday in the Delhi Assembly.

The budget for the Delhi government in 2022–2023 was 758,000 million, compared to 690,000 million the year before.

Gahlot delivered the budget for the first time since taking over the finance division after Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister, resigned after being detained by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam case.

"If Manish Sisodia, who is similar to my older brother, had given this budget, I would have been delighted. The budget reflects the hopes and expectations of the populace "Gahlot said in his statement on the budget.

According to the minister, a clean, beautiful, and contemporary Delhi is the focus of the budget.

This is the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's eighth budget in a row.
