Noida Airport to Begin Flight Operations from THIS Month

Construction work on the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is advancing at a swift pace, with the project nearing its final phase. Joint inspections by Noida International Airport (NIAL) and Yamuna International Airport (YIAPL) are currently underway to monitor the progress. According to recent updates, the airport’s construction is expected to be completed by the end of May, with commercial flight operations likely to commence in the first week of June.

Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate (DM) Manish Kumar Verma conducted an on-site inspection of the project. During his visit, he reviewed the on-going development of an 8-kilometre-long, 30-metre-wide emergency road being constructed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to support airport connectivity. The DM evaluated the progress made so far and instructed NHAI officials to accelerate the pace of work to meet deadlines.

The Noida International Airport is a flagship infrastructure project for the Uttar Pradesh government and is seen as a significant step toward boosting regional connectivity and economic growth. It is being developed by Yamuna International Airport (YIAPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG. The company also holds the operational rights for the airport under a 40-year concession period, which began on October 1, 2021.

Once completed, the airport is expected to significantly ease air traffic congestion in Delhi NCR and provide a world-class aviation hub for passengers and cargo movement in the region.
