11 roads in Vypeen region to be renovated soon

As many as 11 roads in the Vypeen region will be renovated soon, as a proposal for road renovation works worth Rs 1.04 crore is approved by the administration.

K N Unnikrishnan, MLA informed that the renovation progress was achieved as part of flood relief efforts in the coastal area, and it will begin soon.

Vypeen's Convent Road will be renovated with a Rs 10 lakh budget, while Koottikkal Beach Link Road will be renovated with an Rs 8 lakh budget. The Central Beach Road and the Cemetery Road in Kuzhippilli panchayat will be renovated for a total cost of Rs 8 lakh each. A budget of Rs 10 lakh has been set aside to renovate Thayyezhath Road in Nayarambalam panchayat.

A fund of Rs 10 lakh will be used to renovate AE Office Road in Edavanakkad panchayat's fifth ward, and an equal amount will be spent on Vaidyar Road in Njarakkal panchayat's fifth ward.

In Elankunnappuzha panchayat, a total of Rs 10 lakh has been set aside for the renovation of Paruthikadavu Road and Kattassery Road. A fund of Rs 10 lakh will be used to renovate Kanappilli Road in Kadamakkudi panchayat.

The Greater Cochin Development Authority is in charge of planning and development in the Cochin Metropolitan Area, which is the urban hinterland of the Cochin Port. The GCDA's jurisdictional area covers 632 sq km and includes Cochin City, Kerala's commercial capital, six surrounding municipalities, and 25 intervening panchayats.
