Dilip Buildcon Wins Rs 52.5bn Bihar Road, Karnataka Power Jobs

Shares of Dilip Buildcon rose 3.80 per cent to Rs 484.25 after the company announced it had secured a letter of award for a major road construction project in Bihar.

The road project, valued at Rs 34 billion, has been awarded by Adani Road Transport, with the Bihar State Road Development Corporation named as the employer. The contract involves the engineering, procurement and construction of the Ganga Path, connecting the Sultanganj–Bhagalpur–Sabour Road. Executed on a back-to-back basis, the scope covers end-to-end activities from design and engineering to testing and commissioning. The project spans a construction length of 41.09 km and is scheduled to be completed within 42 months.

In a separate regulatory filing, Dilip Buildcon said it has also emerged as the successful bidder for a major power transmission project in Karnataka, valued at Rs 18.5 billion. The contract has been awarded by REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited.

The project involves the establishment of a 400/220/33 kV substation at Mekhali in Belagavi district, along with associated 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines. It will be executed on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis. Under the agreement, Dilip Buildcon will acquire 100 per cent equity in a special purpose vehicle that will act as the transmission service provider for 35 years from the commercial operation date.

The project was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process and will operate under a transmission service agreement. Construction and commissioning are expected to be completed within 24 months.

Dilip Buildcon is engaged in the development of infrastructure projects on an engineering, procurement and construction basis, undertaking contracts for government bodies and special purpose vehicles.

On the financial front, the company reported a 22.8 per cent year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 1.81 billion in Q2 FY26, compared with Rs 2.35 billion in Q2 FY25. Revenue from operations also fell 22.9 per cent year on year to Rs 19.26 billion during the quarter.
