Hyderabad ring road upgraded to National Highway

The approval was granted by the Centre to designate the southern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) in this region as a national highway. A Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister, Telangana, had a meeting with Union Road Transport Minister in Delhi on the same day, during which he made a request regarding this matter.

Following the meeting, the union minister directed the officials of the NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) to draft proposals for declaring the southern section of RRR as a national highway, as mentioned in a release from the state government.

Besides addressing the RRR issue, CM Revanth Reddy urged Gadkari to authorize the expansion of national highways in Telangana and the elevation of several crucial state highways to national highway status. The chief minister provided the union minister with a list of state roads slated for expansion into national highways, explaining the pressing need for their upgrade to NH status, the release further added.
