Mumbai Coastal Road Musical Path Plays Jai Ho

Mumbai inaugurated India’s first musical path on the Coastal Road that plays the song Jai Ho for motorists. The civic administration said the installation used Hungarian technology and that the intention was to implement the concept of Sangeet Marg in future projects. A senior official suggested implementing a pilot on the Samruddhi Expressway, which connects Mumbai and Nagpur. City officials described the inauguration as a symbolic demonstration of collaboration between municipal authorities and foreign partners.

The inauguration was attended by the Consul General of Hungary Ferenc Jari, former Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale and Additional Municipal Commissioner Eastern Suburbs Avinash Dhakne. Officials described the event as a demonstration of cultural and technological collaboration aimed at enhancing the road experience for commuters. Authorities indicated that the experiment was intended to be evaluated before any wider roll out and that it would be subject to a period of monitoring and consultation with stakeholders. Organisers said technical teams would liaise with municipal departments during the initial observation period.

Local administrators said the scheme would be monitored for safety, driver response and technical performance, and adjustments would be made as necessary. The municipal office conveyed that lessons from the Coastal Road installation could inform both urban and expressway projects across the state. Planners noted that a measured pilot on a long distance expressway would allow assessment under varied traffic and speed conditions and provide data on operational resilience. Officials also indicated that maintenance protocols and practical considerations would be part of the evaluation.
