Rs 80 Million Road Inaugurated to Connect 20 Tribal Villages

A newly constructed 8-kilometre road connecting Pudi, Karangi, and Melikanchuru in Pachipenta mandal, Parvathipuram Manyam District, was inaugurated on Monday by Minister for Women, Child Welfare and Tribal Welfare, Gummidi Sandhya Rani.

Built at a cost of Rs 8 crore (approx. £750,000), the road provides crucial connectivity to around 20 tribal villages in the region—many of which were previously accessible only on foot or via ‘Doli’ (manual stretcher transport).

Improved Access and Emergency Support
The minister highlighted that the road would serve as a lifeline, especially during medical emergencies. "Ambulance services can now reach these remote areas, ensuring faster medical access," she stated.

She further emphasised the state government's commitment under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to the development and upliftment of tribal communities, ensuring lasting infrastructure that directly improves quality of life.

The inauguration was attended by Tribal Welfare Chief Engineer Srinivas, along with other officials and local representatives.
