Underpass linking NH8, Dwarka e-way to be built in 6 months

In a significant development, officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have announced that the construction of the underpass at Kherki Majra on the Dwarka Expressway is anticipated to conclude within the next six months. This optimistic projection comes following the finalization of land acquisition, which was successfully completed by the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) last week.
Work on this crucial infrastructure project had faced an impasse since January 2022 due to pending land acquisition proceedings. With the resolution of this last hurdle, the four-lane underpass, upon its completion, will serve as a direct linkage between new sectors and National Highway 8 (NH-8) through the expressway.
According to NHAI officials, the land required for the underpass construction has been officially handed over to the NHAI by HSVP. This handover, which transpired last week, involved the transfer of 3 kanals of land, paving the way for the swift advancement of construction activities. NHAI has mobilized its resources, including machinery and manpower, to expedite the construction of the remaining sections of the underpass.
The Kherki Majra underpass project holds immense significance in enhancing regional connectivity and alleviating traffic congestion in the area. Once operational, it is expected to streamline traffic flow and provide a smoother commute for commuters using the Dwarka Expressway.
The announcement regarding the imminent completion of this vital infrastructure project has been welcomed by residents and businesses alike, as it promises to unlock new opportunities for economic development and ease of travel.
As construction progresses at an accelerated pace, residents and travelers can look forward to the much-anticipated opening of the Kherki Majra underpass within the next six months, marking a significant milestone in regional infrastructure development.
