Cabinet nod the rail link plan for Gati Shakti

A new 117-km railway line connecting Gujarat and Rajasthan at an estimated cost of Rs 27.98 billion was given the Cabinet's approval on Wednesday. This is a large-scale infrastructure project plan that was created in just three to four months using the GatiShakti platform, an integrated infrastructure planning framework the government had just eight months earlier launched.

Creating such a plan often takes 6 to 8 months and involves numerous field surveys. However, due to the data and information on the GatiShakti platform, the time period was significantly cut short. By 2026–2027, the government hopes to have the project finished. One of India's 51 shaktipeeths, Ambaji is a well-known destination for pilgrims.
