Delhi Metro Phase Four Work Progresses, 70 Per Cent Complete

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) phase four expansion has gained momentum, with more than 70 per cent of civil construction completed across its three priority corridors.

A significant milestone is the near-completion of the 4.6 km Majlis Park to Jagatpur Village stretch, which includes three new stations—Burari, Jharoda Majra, and Jagatpur Village. Trial runs began in December 2024, and the section will open following statutory clearances. DMRC also reported major tunnel breakthroughs on the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor: Chhatarpur Mandir to IGNOU (1,475 metres and 1,460 metres) and Kishangarh to Vasant Kunj (1,550 metres).

Phase four’s first section, Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension, opened on 5 January. Work also commenced on the Rithala-Kundli corridor, a critical link. Phase four adds approximately 112 km to Delhi Metro’s network.
