DP World Launches Rail Service Linking Gujarat and NCR via Multi-modal

DP World, a Dubai-based logistics operator, announced the launch of its rail-led multi-modal service SARAL-3, connecting Gandhidham in Gujarat to the National Capital Region (NCR). The new service, part of the 'Sustainable, Assured, Reliable, and Agile Logistics' (SARAL) initiative, features a dedicated container train that departs from Bhimasar, Gandhidham every weekend. The train will reach Pali-Rewari, Haryana within three days and offer an option to reach Panipat or Modinagar Inland Container Depot (ICD) within six days.

DP World operates over 100 container rakes and Special Freight Train Operator (SFTO) rakes, along with more than 16,000 containers and trailers for last-mile delivery. In December 2024, the company commissioned a third rail line at its Pali-Rewari terminal in Haryana, increasing the terminal's monthly freight handling capacity by 25 per cent. This upgraded rail solution supports the company's sustainability goals by reducing CO2 emissions by up to 70 per cent.
