Konkan Railway Launches Ro-Ro Car Service Between Kolad and Verna

Konkan Railway has introduced its Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) car transportation service between Kolad in Maharashtra and Verna in Goa. The service commenced on 23 August 2025, just ahead of the Ganapati festival, offering passengers the convenience of travelling with their vehicles on the same train.
The inaugural train carried nineteen passengers along with their vehicles. To ensure comfort, the service provided both a dedicated AC coach and a Second Seating coach, while vehicles were securely accommodated on board. The first train departed from Kolad at 15:40 hours on 23 August.
The initiative blends convenience and safety, reflecting Konkan Railway’s ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger-friendly services under its motto, “We Care, We Serve.”
For all notified Ro-Ro trips scheduled until 11 September 2025, registrations will be accepted up to three days prior to the date of journey, by 17:00 hours (excluding the day of travel). Further details and booking options are available at konkanrailway.com.
This service not only eases festive travel but also marks a unique travel option that supports greater accessibility and comfort for passengers moving between Maharashtra and Goa.
