MIC Electronics Wins Rs 1.49 Cr Railway Passenger Info Project

MIC Electronics, a leading manufacturer of digital passenger information systems, has secured a Rs 1.49 crore contract from South Central Railway’s Vijayawada Division to install an Integrated Passenger Information System (IPIS) at Annavaram (ANV) and Yelamanchili (YLM) stations. The project is aimed at improving real-time communication and travel information for high footfall passengers on the Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam corridor.

The upgrade includes LED train display boards, digital clocks, audio announcements and GPS-based systems, supported by an IP-based architecture with optical fibre connectivity for instantaneous updates and centralised monitoring. The solution, developed and manufactured in India, will integrate platform controllers, public announcement systems, enhanced network security and energy-efficient displays.

“MIC Electronics is proud to partner with South Central Railway to modernise passenger information systems at ANV and YLM stations. This project strengthens our commitment to delivering advanced, Made-in-India digital display and communication solutions for India’s transportation sector. We look forward to supporting Indian Railways’ broader vision of smarter, safer, and more connected stations,” said Rakshit Mathur, CEO, MIC Electronics.

The project is to be completed within 12 months and will be followed by a three-year warranty and operational support period. MIC Electronics has installed passenger information systems across more than 200 stations in India and continues to support the Railways’ digital transformation initiatives.
