Patna Metro Extended To Malahipakdi

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the extension of Patna Metro services to Malahipakdi, nearly doubling the operational length of the city's first metro corridor. He travelled on the metro after the inauguration as services began operating between ISBT and Malahipakdi. The move extends the reach of the corridor and follows commercial operations on the first three point two-kilometre stretch between ISBT and Bhootnath, which commenced on October sixth, 2025.

The extension adds stations and enhances access for residents and commuters, improving links to major transport hubs. Officials outlined operational adjustments to accommodate the longer corridor and said staff training and scheduling were completed prior to launch. Ticketing and passenger information systems were reported to be in place to serve the extended route.

Following the inauguration, the Chief Minister visited Miller High School at Veerchand Patel Marg in Patna and met students under a state plan to develop the institution as a model high school. The school has been designated for infrastructure and academic upgrades. Students demonstrated an AI enabled robot developed by a local college and the device identified Samrat Choudhary as the current Chief Minister, noting he assumed office on April fifteenth, 2026. BJP MLC Nawal Kishore Yadav said the Chief Minister had decided to adopt the school.

Yadav outlined immediate improvement works instructed by the state, including a grand entrance gate, renovation of the water tank, seating for students, installation of high mast lighting, campus cleanliness drives and repair of older buildings. He added that officials were directed to ensure the campus reflects heritage values while being modernised into a fully equipped model school. The metro extension and education upgrades reflect concurrent priorities in urban mobility and public infrastructure in the state capital, with officials set to oversee implementation.

"Join industry leaders at RAHSTA Expo, India's premier platform for roads, highways and traffic infrastructure. Register now to explore innovations, network with experts and shape the future of mobility."
