Santosh Kumar Jha to Head Konkan Railway as CMD

Santosh Kumar Jha has been appointed as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL). He will be taking over the reins of the prestigious organization, succeeding the incumbent Sanjay Gupta.

With over three decades of experience in Indian Railways, Santosh Kumar Jha is known for his expertise in project management and execution. He has previously served in various important positions such as the Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) and Chief Project Manager of South Eastern Railway.

Jha is a Civil Engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and has a distinguished career in the railways. His vast experience in handling railway projects and infrastructure development is expected to benefit the Konkan Railway immensely.

Speaking about the appointment, a senior official said, "Santosh Kumar Jha's technical expertise combined with his deep understanding of railway operations make him the ideal candidate to lead Konkan Railway during these challenging times. The Konkan Railway, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of 741 kilometers of rail network along the Konkan coast. Known for its picturesque route passing through some of the most challenging terrains, the railway line connects Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka.
