Six Odisha Railway Stations to Be Revamped Under Amrit Scheme

Six railway stations in Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sambalpur districts will undergo redevelopment under the Amrit Station Scheme, bringing world-class standards in design, sustainability, accessibility, and passenger convenience. The stations selected are Angul, Talcher, Talcher Road, Meramandali, Dhenkanal, and Rairakhol. Each will feature a new state-of-the-art station building, enhanced amenities, and improved infrastructure to ease passenger flow.

According to railway officials, the estimated investment for each station is: Angul: Rs. 254.1 Mn, Talcher Road: Rs. 188.5 Mn, Talcher: Rs. 129.7 Mn, Meramandali: Rs. 219.9 Mn, Dhenkanal: Rs. 261.1 Mn, and Rairakhol: Rs. 269.3 Mn.

Upgrades include modernising facades, improving platforms, and integrating green features. Officials stated these projects will not only enhance commuter experience but also generate employment in central Odisha during and after construction.
