Telangana: Stadler Rail to build rail coal factory with Medha Servo Drives

Stadler Rail has decided to establish a rail coach manufacturing factory in Telangana in a joint venture with Medha Servo Drives.

Over two years, the corporations would invest a total of Rs 1,000 crore in the production centre. By this unit, 2,500 jobs are planned to be created.

Following a meeting between Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao and Ansgar Brockmeyer, Executive Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) of Stadler Rail, the announcement was made on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum 2022 in Davos (Switzerland).

The manufacturing plant will serve as the major manufacturing location for their tenders not just from India, but also from clients across Asia-Pacific.

Ansgar Brockmeyer told the media that as they seek to scale up their activities in India and the APAC area, this unit will be one of the most significant centres for them.

Stadler Rail is a Swiss railway rolling stock company that specialises in regional train multiple units and trams. For almost 80 years, Stadler has been manufacturing trains.
