Texmaco Rail Secures Rs265.6 mn Contract From South Central Railway

Texmaco Rail & Engineering has received a Letter of Acceptance from South Central Railway for an order worth Rs265.6 million (Rs265.6 mn).

The order covers comprehensive signalling and telecommunication works for automatic block signalling and Kavach systems and is to be executed within 12 months. The company said the award was from a domestic entity and does not involve related party interests.

With this win the outstanding order book of the Infra Rail and Green Energy division stands at Rs11.60 billion (Rs11.60 bn) inclusive of taxes. The company said the promoter or promoter group has no interest in the awarding entity and the order does not fall under related party transactions.

In May the company secured a major international rolling stock opportunity in South Africa valued at more than Rs40.45 billion (Rs40.45 bn) through a letter of award from a South African train operating company. The engagement covers the supply of more than 2,235 freight wagons across multiple variants with 30 diesel locomotives and includes a proposed long term 15 year maintenance partnership.

The company described the opportunity as one of its largest international rolling stock wins and a key milestone in global expansion plans. Management expects combined domestic and international order flow to bolster manufacturing utilisation and lifecycle service revenues over coming years.
