The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Assam has invited bids for a large-scale water supply project covering multiple towns in the state. The initiative aims to enhance potable water availability, ensuring safe and reliable drinking water for urban and semi-urban populations.

The project involves design, construction, operation, and maintenance of water supply infrastructure, including pumping stations, filtration plants, distribution networks, and storage reservoirs. This move aligns with Assam’s long-term plan to improve public health and sanitation through sustainable water management solutions.

With Assam’s growing urban population, demand for clean drinking water has surged, necessitating modernisation of supply systems. The government aims to bridge gaps in water accessibility, ensuring equitable distribution across towns.

The bidding process seeks qualified contractors and firms capable of executing the project efficiently and within stipulated timelines.
