RR Decor Unveils Jim Thompson’s Oriental Odyssey Collection

RR Decor has introduced the Oriental Odyssey Collection by Jim Thompson, a new textile and wallcovering line that blends cultural heritage with contemporary interior design. The collection reflects RR Decor’s approach of bringing internationally recognised textile houses to Indian interiors while curating designs that balance craftsmanship with modern relevance.

Inspired by ancient murals, ceramics and mosaics from Thailand’s historic and sacred spaces, the collection draws heavily from the artistic richness of the Rattanakosin era. Elements reminiscent of the Grand Palace’s gilded panels and traditional folk art motifs have been reinterpreted into modern fabrics and wallcoverings.

The designs feature hand-drawn patterns, softened textures and rhythmic repeats that create layered visual depth. The colour palettes combine regal accents with rustic undertones, resulting in surfaces that feel atmospheric yet adaptable to diverse interior settings. Through these elements, the collection transforms historical references into design expressions suited for contemporary spaces.

The Oriental Odyssey Collection is particularly aimed at the hospitality sector, where design narratives and ambience play a key role in shaping guest experiences. The textiles are suited for boutique hotels, cultural retreats and luxury resorts, offering designers materials that introduce character and storytelling without overpowering interiors.

RR Decor stated that the collection aims to support designers in creating immersive spaces that feel thoughtful and enduring while celebrating artistic traditions.

RR Decor is a textile design company specialising in furnishing and upholstery fabrics for residential and contract interiors. The company is known for weaving handloom silks and developing exclusive fabric designs rooted in extensive research.
