ONGC Stabilises Fire Incident At SHP Platform Mumbai High

A fire was reported at about 17:45 on 3 April 2026 on the SHP Platform of the Mumbai High asset operated by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. The company said the incident occurred in the late afternoon and was attended to by on-site emergency teams. The platform is part of the broader Mumbai High complex and operations at the site were the subject of an immediate response.

The situation was promptly brought under control and the fire was extinguished by response teams, allowing safety checks to begin. Emergency protocols were implemented to secure the platform and assess equipment and personnel. Company sources indicated that there was no disruption to the wider asset's integrity beyond the area directly affected.

10 personnel sustained minor injuries and are receiving medical care, and all are reported to be stable. The company confirmed that those affected were given prompt attention on site before transfer to appropriate medical facilities. No fatalities were reported and the nature of the injuries was described as minor.

Operations at the platform were normalised following the incident and routine activities resumed in accordance with safety clearances.
