Vedanta Aluminium Partners with GAIL

Vedanta Aluminium has signed a gas sales agreement with GAIL Gas Ltd, a subsidiary of GAIL (India) Ltd, to supply natural gas to its Jharsuguda smelter in Odisha, aiming to reduce emissions and enhance sustainability.

Key Points: Pipeline Setup: GAIL Gas will establish a 7.5-km pipeline to deliver 32,000 standard cubic metres of natural gas per day over a five-year contract, operational by late 2025.

Emission Reductions: Transitioning to natural gas will cut emissions by 47,292 tonnes of CO2 equivalent annually, supporting Vedanta’s net-zero target by 2050.
