BHEL Wins Captive Power Plant Order From SAIL

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured an order from the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) to build a captive power plant, with the contract valued at Rs 12-15 billion. The award was announced by the company in a regulatory filing and reflects continued demand for customised power solutions by heavy industry. The deal size places it among significant recent orders for engineering firms in the sector.

The contract requires BHEL to undertake design, supply and commissioning of key plant equipment and related services for captive generation to support SAIL's operations. The scope includes end to end delivery of systems that will be integrated with the steel maker's process needs, ensuring reliable on site power. The execution will draw on existing design standards and project management processes to align delivery with the steel maker's operational timelines.

The order is likely to strengthen BHEL's order book and provide steady revenue visibility in the near term.
