EPI Floats EoI for 250 MW Solar EPC Project Near Bikaner

Engineering Projects (India) (EPI) has invited an Expression of Interest (EoI) to associate with a suitable backend partner or contractor for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) execution of a 250 MW AC grid-connected solar photovoltaic project in Rajasthan.

The move follows EPI emerging as a successful bidder in a tender floated by SJVN Green Energy (SGEL). EPI has set February 7, 2026, as the deadline for submission of technical bids under the EoI.

The proposed project is planned near the 220 kV Bikaner-IV substation at Ambaran in Rajasthan. The scope includes development of the solar power plant along with a dedicated transmission line and three years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M).

While the original SGEL tender covers a 500 MW/250 MW solar power plant, EPI clarified that it is participating only for the EPC execution of the 250 MW solar project under the EPC-with-land category. To this end, EPI intends to enter into a pre-bid tie-up with an experienced agency that will act as a backend EPC partner to support bidding and execution.

The EPC package includes identification and arrangement of suitable land, with the selected contractor responsible for ensuring complete transfer of ownership or sub-lease of land in favour of SGEL. Under SGEL’s two-bid system, comprising eligibility and financial bids, the scope of work covers end-to-end execution of a ground-mounted, grid-connected solar PV plant of up to 250 MWAC.

This includes design and engineering; procurement and supply of equipment; testing at manufacturers’ works; logistics and insurance; civil and electrical works; installation, testing and commissioning; performance demonstration; and operational acceptance. The scope also covers development of the power evacuation system up to the interconnection point and its integration with the Central Transmission Utility network.

Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for three years of O&M of the solar plant, including the switchyard and evacuation system up to the Bikaner-IV substation. The bid validity will be 180 days from the opening of the price bid, extendable by mutual agreement.
