Caterpillar Showcases AI and Autonomy at Conexpo 2026

Caterpillar recently showcased a wide range of advanced technologies, digital solutions and equipment innovations at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, highlighting how connected platforms, AI and autonomy can improve productivity, safety and operational efficiency on construction sites.

At the event, the company demonstrated how a unified digital ecosystem can integrate machines, services and fleet data to support more efficient jobsite operations. The exhibition also highlighted Caterpillar’s growing capabilities in artificial intelligence, automation and connected equipment designed to address labour shortages and rising operational complexity in the construction industry.

Among the key launches was Cat Compact, a new streamlined customer experience aimed at small contractors and growing businesses. The platform integrates purchasing, rental and service options for compact equipment, combining digital access with dealer support to simplify equipment management.

Caterpillar also introduced enhancements to its Cat Rentals brand and digital platform, enabling customers to search, manage and monitor equipment fleets more efficiently as operations scale.

In the technology segment, the company demonstrated the Cat AI Assistant, designed to help operators interact more easily with equipment and digital tools by providing real-time insights and recommendations. Caterpillar also highlighted its collaboration with Geotab to integrate on-highway fleet data into the VisionLink fleet management platform, enabling customers to manage both on-road and off-road equipment from a single interface.

Live demonstrations at the event featured the Cat CS12 autonomous soil compactor, as well as technologies such as Collision Mitigation and remote machine operation, showcasing the company’s latest advancements in autonomous construction solutions.

Caterpillar also presented new power solutions, including the C3.6 and C13D engines, alongside condition monitoring and connectivity tools designed to improve equipment uptime and lifecycle performance.

The company further celebrated industry talent through the Global Operator Challenge Finals and the inaugural Global Dealer Technician Challenge, recognising the skills of operators and technicians who support productivity and safety on construction sites worldwide.
