Gautam Buddh Nagar administration takes a stand against builders

The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has decided to issue notices to real-estate developers on 27th February 2024 due to the barrage of complaints from flat owners. During a meeting, they discussed their issues, including delay in possession and registration of flats. Other senior administrators and officers of the registration department were also present.

District Magistrate (DM) Manish Kumar Verma told Press Trust of India, ?It has been decided that notice would be issued to some builders, including Mahagun, Ajnara and Migsun, seeking their response over the complaints related to their housing projects,? and further stated, ?If their response is not found satisfactory then legal proceedings, including sealing of their premises, would be carried out. There have been complaints against some builders, but majority of the issues discussed in today?s meetings are related to these three builders?. DM Atul Kumar is responsible for following up on this case.

Flat buyers told the district magistrate that builders were not registering their flats despite the full payment, while the builders blamed the delay on a lack of occupancy certificates. The DM then directed the builders to register flats with available OCs and obtain OCs for pending flats. The DM also asked builders to avoid harassing the flat buyers and to ensure action, instructing them to increase stamp revenue as much as possible in the district, as the Uttar Pradesh government intended.
