Syrma SGS Acquires Majority Stake in Elcome Integrated Systems

Syrma SGS Technology, a leading Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) company, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a 60 per cent majority stake in Elcome Integrated Systems (Elcome), marking a strategic entry into India’s Defence and Maritime electronics domain.

Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Navi Mumbai, Elcome is a well-established Indian company specializing in advanced electronic systems, integrated command solutions, and mission-critical technologies. Over the past four decades, it has been a trusted partner to India’s Defence and Maritime establishments, offering design, integration, and support for navigation, communication, and surveillance systems — including Integrated Bridge Systems, navigation radars, and maritime communication suites. These are deployed extensively across Indian Navy and maritime platforms, supported by a pan-India service network.

Elcome’s strong R&D foundation and engineering depth enable it to deliver high-reliability, indigenous solutions tailored to complex operational requirements. Its portfolio spans navigation, communication, and control systems used in mission-critical defence and maritime applications.

The acquisition strengthens Syrma SGS’s presence in the fast-growing Defence Electronics segment — a key area of national importance — by combining Elcome’s domain expertise with Syrma SGS’s industrial-scale manufacturing, supply chain capabilities, and product engineering strengths. Together, the two companies aim to deliver high-reliability, innovation-led systems for defence customers in India and abroad.

Aligned with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, this move reinforces India’s commitment to self-reliance in advanced electronic systems and the growth of indigenous defence technology capabilities.

Commenting on the acquisition, Sandeep Tandon, Chairman, Syrma SGS Technology said, “This marks a significant milestone in Syrma SGS’s long-term strategic roadmap. India’s defence sector is witnessing strong indigenization and capability expansion. Elcome brings deep technical expertise, proven deployment experience, and trusted customer relationships across key defence institutions. Together, we aim to build a scaled, innovation-driven domestic platform in defence electronics, aligned with India’s national priorities.”
