Ampere Magnus Grand Named Electric Scooter Of The Year 2026

Greaves Electric Mobility Limited (GEML) said its family e-scooter, the Ampere Magnus Grand, was awarded Electric Scooter of the Year 2026 at the Bike India Awards. The recognition reflects GEML's focus on balancing performance, technology and everyday usability for Indian family riders. Company executives described the accolade as validation of their approach to accessible electric two-wheeler products that prioritise reliability, comfort and practical innovation.

The Magnus Grand is positioned as India's best affordable EV under Rs 0.1 mn and is built on a dual-frame chassis engineered for stability and durability across varied roads. It is powered by a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery that carries a class-leading five-year / 75,000 km warranty and is designed to offer extended life and dependable performance. Two premium dual-tone colours, Matcha Green and Ocean Blue, together with gold-finish badging and a digital display, provide contemporary styling while addressing family mobility needs.

Key design and usability updates include a refreshed digital display for improved visibility, sturdier ergonomics with a strengthened grab rail and advanced braking technology to enhance rider confidence on busy city roads. The LFP battery is presented as delivering two times extra life with comprehensive warranty coverage and the scooter offers spacious seating and a high payload to suit family-oriented urban travel. These attributes were cited by the company as central to expanding consumer adoption of electric mobility in India.

GEML is part of Greaves Cotton Limited, which has a legacy of 165 years and a stated ambition to enable a sustainable transition to green mobility. The electric mobility business operates multiple manufacturing plants and a wide dealer network intended to reduce downtime and improve customer experience while supporting the company's aim to democratise sustainable transport. The award is said to strengthen GEML's market proposition as it pushes to make electric scooters practical and accessible for everyday riders.
