EESL Prepares Blueprint For MSMEs In Andhra Pradesh

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is preparing a comprehensive blueprint to accelerate adoption of advanced energy efficient technologies among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Andhra Pradesh. The plan builds on the success of flagship Government of India programmes such as UJALA, the Street Lighting National Programme, distributed solar and smart metering. The initiative forms part of a broader national roadmap intended to boost industrial efficiency and reduce emissions.

A dedicated blueprint will be submitted to the Industries Department of Andhra Pradesh and aligns with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of leveraging advanced technologies to drive economic growth, generate employment and promote environmental sustainability, according to an official release. The document frames the State as a potential frontrunner in adopting scalable measures. It sets out technical pathways and institutional arrangements for roll out across key manufacturing clusters.

The proposed roadmap aims to transform MSMEs, often described as energy and carbon intensive, into engines of sustainable industrial growth through a combination of scalable solutions, innovative financing models and integration of global technologies. Measures under consideration include upgrades to efficient motors, process optimisation, energy audits and deployment of distributed solar paired with smart metering. The plan emphasises replicability and cost effectiveness to improve competitiveness.

EESL has prepared the State blueprint as part of a national push to accelerate industrial decarbonisation while enhancing MSME competitiveness. The company intends to present implementation models that can be adapted by industry associations and local authorities and to propose financing structures that lower upfront costs. The roadmap also envisages capacity building and pilot projects to demonstrate operational gains.

The blueprint is to be submitted soon and is designed to catalyse private investment and employment in energy efficient manufacturing. If adopted, the proposals could help Andhra Pradesh reduce industrial energy intensity and position its MSME base for greener growth. Officials expect the measures to contribute to long term sustainability and economic resilience.
