Environmental Clearance Granted for Tidel Parks in Madurai and Trichy

The Tamil Nadu State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) has granted environmental clearance for the construction of Tidel parks in Madurai and Trichy, paving the way for these landmark projects. Tenders have been issued, and TIDEL Park Limited officials announced that foundation stones will be laid within a month.

The Madurai Tidel Park, set to rise near the Mattuthavani bus stand on a 9.97-acre site, will feature a built-up area of 567,000 square feet. The Rs 2.89 billion project will include a ground floor and 12 additional floors with state-of-the-art facilities, including plug-and-play workspaces, high-speed internet, conference rooms, and recreational spaces. Once operational, it is expected to create approximately 5,500 direct jobs, boosting Madurai’s economic and technological landscape.

Similarly, the Trichy Tidel Park, located near the Panjappur integrated bus terminus along the Trichy-Madurai highway, will span an 11-acre site with a built-up area of 550,000 square feet. This Rs 2.9 billion initiative is designed to support IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) companies with cutting-edge infrastructure. The park is projected to generate around 5,000 jobs, reinforcing Trichy’s growing status as an industrial hub.

Tidel Park Limited, a Tamil Nadu government initiative, submitted these proposals in December 2024. Following a comprehensive review, SEIAA approved the projects. A senior Tidel Park official shared that Chief Minister M. K. Stalin is expected to inaugurate the projects, with construction likely to begin within two months.

These parks symbolize Tamil Nadu’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its IT ecosystem and fostering regional development through sustainable infrastructure.
