PM to Launch Projects Worth Rs 69 Billion in Four States

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on 29 and 30 May to launch multiple infrastructure projects collectively worth over Rs 69.42 billion.

In Sikkim, the Prime Minister will attend the “Sikkim@50” programme and launch projects including a 500-bed hospital in Namchi, a ropeway in Pelling, and a statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Gangtok.

In West Bengal, he will lay the foundation stone for a City Gas Distribution project in Alipurduar and Cooch Behar worth Rs 1.01 billion, providing piped natural gas to over two and 50,000 households and fuel for vehicles.

In Bihar, projects worth over Rs 48.52 billion will be launched, including a 2,400 MW Nabinagar Super Thermal Power Project, new roads, bridges, and airport terminals.

In Uttar Pradesh, projects worth Rs 20.90 billion include metro rail development, thermal power stations, road upgrades and water treatment facilities in Kanpur.

The initiatives are set to enhance regional connectivity, energy capacity, public amenities, and employment generation in line with the government’s development vision.
