Toyota To Build New Vehicle Manufacturing Plant In India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced plans to build a new vehicle manufacturing plant in the Bidkin Industrial Area in Maharashtra, India, with production slated to begin in the first half of 2029. The company said the facility is intended to strengthen its long-term global competitiveness and to support local communities. The announcement stated that the plant will bolster Toyota's business foundation in the Indian market.

The new plant will be positioned to supply vehicles to customers in India and to neighbouring regions, and it is expected to produce up to 100,000 vehicles per year at the start of production. TKM indicated that the facility has been planned to enable a flexible response to future demand growth and market changes, and to deliver products in a timely manner that customers choose.
