Harsh Pati Singhania Named ICC Chair

Harsh Pati Singhania, Director, JK Organisation, and Chairman and Managing Director, JK Paper, has been elected Chair of the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris.

He joins a select group of Indian business leaders to hold the global position in ICC’s century-long history.

The appointment comes as India continues to strengthen its position as a major economy and an influential voice of the Global South.

Addressing ICC National Committees, Singhania said it was a great honour to serve as Chair of ICC, Paris. He said the ICC’s mission has become more important as the global economy undergoes major changes.

He added that businesses need trusted institutions, practical solutions and a strong collective voice to help build a more open, resilient and prosperous world.

Singhania also expressed gratitude to outgoing ICC Chair Philippe Varin and ICC Secretary General John Denton for their leadership.

His vision is focused on three strategic priorities: rebuilding trust in global commerce, shaping rules for the new economy, including digital trade, AI and sustainability, and strengthening the voice of business in key multilateral forums.

Building on ICC frameworks such as Incoterms, UCP, ATA Carnet and dispute resolution mechanisms, Singhania aims to strengthen confidence in international trade.

The agenda is supported by the ICC Compact for Trade, Jobs and Growth, a business-led initiative focused on strengthening global commerce, improving regional representation and supporting SMEs.

The Compact is complemented by digital initiatives such as One Click, the Digital Standards Initiative and AI-enabled trade services to make global trade more accessible.

Singhania outlined priorities to strengthen ICC’s role in global policymaking across forums such as the UN, WTO, G20, G7 and BRICS.

He also aims to expand practical trade tools, standards and digital services, while deepening engagement across ICC’s network of more than 90 National Committees and over 45 million companies in more than 170 countries.

"Join industry leaders at RAHSTA Expo, India's premier platform for roads, highways and traffic infrastructure. Register now to explore innovations, network with experts and shape the future of mobility."
