CC Road Construction Launched In Devanakonda

The groundbreaking ceremony for a cement concrete road at Budaga Jangala Colony in Devanakonda was held as part of local infrastructure works estimated at Rs 0.5 million (mn). The works are being implemented under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the mandal has been allocated Rs 0.11 mn for related activities. The initiative was launched under the auspices of the Jana Sena Party and similar projects are planned in Devanakonda, Kothapeta, Kunkunuru and Ternakal villages.

Ternakal Venkappa, in-charge for the Alur Assembly constituency, said CC road works worth Rs 0.38 mn are being initiated across the constituency and that discussions are underway with state and district officials to secure further funds. He indicated sustained efforts to strengthen basic infrastructure and accelerate development in the area. The report noted engagement with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and district administration to mobilise additional resources.

The wider development agenda cited includes the Super Six programmes, large-scale investments, job creation for youth, completion of the Polavaram project, metro planning and port construction, and rapid development of the state capital. Officials view these measures as contributing to Andhra Pradesh emerging as one of the fastest-developing states under the coalition government. The narrative linked local road works to the broader strategy of improving connectivity and facilitating economic activity in rural pockets.

The groundbreaking was attended by Andhra Pradesh Valmiki Corporation Chairperson Bojjamma, mandal planning and development officer Jyothi, divisional engineer Manohar, TDP mandal convener Vijayabhaskar Goud, market yard director Saroja and representatives from the Telugu Desam Party and Jana Sena Party along with local residents. The gathering observed that targeted investment in basic infrastructure under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme can create employment and improve access to services for village communities. Implementation will be overseen by district engineers and mandal officials.
