Sona Urges Stronger Monitoring Of Shi Yomi Road Projects

Sona has called for stronger monitoring of road connectivity projects in Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh during a recent visit to the area. The regional leader emphasised the need for stricter oversight to ensure that sanctioned works meet quality standards and are completed within scheduled timelines. He noted that improved road links are essential for socio-economic development in remote communities and said that lapses in supervision have delayed benefits for residents.

Officials were instructed to establish clearer supervisory arrangements and to provide regular progress reports to state authorities. The call included a request for enhanced coordination between the executing agencies, local administrations and contractors so that bottlenecks are addressed promptly. The leader recommended that community representatives be involved in monitoring to increase transparency and to foster local ownership of infrastructure works. The measures are intended to improve accountability and to reduce cost overruns.

The announcement proposed the adoption of systematic monitoring tools and periodic site inspections to verify the quality of materials and workmanship. There was an emphasis on integrating simple digital tracking of project milestones to reduce administrative delays and to provide up to date information to stakeholders. Officials were urged to prioritise road sections that connect habitations to essential services such as health centres, schools and markets. Periodic independent audits were proposed to validate progress estimates.

Stakeholders in Shi Yomi were asked to treat timely completion and maintenance as a shared responsibility to secure long term benefits from investments in connectivity. The regional leader indicated that follow up reviews would be scheduled to assess progress and to hold implementing agencies accountable for lapses. Strengthened oversight was framed as necessary to convert project approvals into tangible improvements in mobility and livelihoods for remote populations. Local workforce development and maintenance planning were highlighted as complementary priorities.
