6 Firms Compete for Thane Metro’s Package C-01

Six infrastructure firms have submitted bids for Package C-01, the first civil construction contract of the Thane Metro Rail Project.
MahaMetro (Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation) had floated the tender in May 2025 with an estimated cost of Rs 14.24 billion and a completion deadline of 30 months. Technical bids were opened on 10 September, confirming participation from six companies.

Scope of Work
The contract includes the design and construction of an elevated metro viaduct measuring 20.527 km between the UG Ramp and Balkum Naka. It also covers the depot approach viaduct and three special spans as part of the Thane Integral Ring Metro Project.

Project Overview
Phase 1 of the Thane Metro, officially called the Thane Integral Ring Metro, will cover 29 km with a single circular corridor and 22 stations. The line will run along the western periphery of Thane city.
The bids are currently under technical evaluation. Financial bids will be opened for firms meeting the eligibility criteria to determine the lowest bidder.
