BCPL wins Rs 325.8 million railway electrification contract

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has announced that it has signed an agreement for the execution of a 25 KV Overhead Electrification (OHE) modification project between Gurmura, Mahadia, and Shakti Nagar in the Dhanbad Division of the East Coast Railway under Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).

The contract covers the design, supply (excluding galvanised steel structures and conductors), erection, testing, and commissioning of a 2x25 KV feeder line along the track, alongside OHE modification works to meet the 3,000 MT loading target for both the up and down lines.

Spanning the Gurmura (KM 119.16) to Mahadia (KM 194.63) and Shakti Nagar (KM 32.13) sections, the total length of the project is 110/220 RKM/TKM. The project, valued at Rs 325.8 million, is expected to be completed within 16 months.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Aparesh Nandi, Chairman of BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited, said, “We are pleased to inform our stakeholders about our latest order for the modification of the 25 KV OHE system from Gurmura to Mahadia and Shakti Nagar under RVNL. This contract strengthens our growing project portfolio, and we remain optimistic about a strong pipeline of upcoming orders.”

He added, “BCPL continues to provide unmatched services in connecting various regions of the country, particularly the North East and rural areas. With ongoing projects in EPC, modification, and new line expansion—including third and fourth line additions and speed upgrades—we are confident of continued growth and consistent work flow across India.”
