Maha Metro Floats Rs 35.4 mn Tender For Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 Maintenance

Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) has invited electronic tenders for the annual maintenance contract for the signalling, telecom and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems on Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 (NMML1). The contract has an estimated value of Rs 35.4 million (mn) excluding GST and will run for three years from 17 November 2026. The tender covers sustained technical support and preventative maintenance to ensure uninterrupted service on the corridor.

The tender bears the reference NM1-S&T-02/2026 and specifies a bid security of Rs 0.177 million (mn). A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for five August 2026 at 11:00 and the submission window opens on 20 August 2026 at 11:00 and closes on 27 August 2026 at 16:00. The procurement is being conducted through the e-tendering platform and seeks firms with proven experience in urban rail system maintenance.

Under the scope, the successful contractor will assume responsibility for routine inspections, corrective repairs, software updates and spare parts management for signalling, telecom and AFC assets on NMML1. The line, developed by City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), links CBD Belapur and Pendhar and serves residential, commercial and transport nodes in the satellite city. Ensuring the reliability of these systems is presented as vital to passenger safety and effective fare collection.

The contract term aims to provide continuity of technical services and to reduce operational disruptions through scheduled maintenance and rapid response for fault rectification. The tender documentation sets out performance parameters, service levels, and guarantees intended to align maintenance outputs with operational requirements. Firms bidding will be evaluated on technical credentials, past experience and financial capacity to deliver the full term.

Awarding the contract is expected to sustain operations on a key corridor and contribute to broader efforts to enhance connectivity and sustainable urban mobility within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The authority indicates that maintaining core systems will support reliability and passenger confidence while enabling long term network development.
