MRIDCL awaits final approval for Semi-High speed project

Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (MRIDCL) said that out of 1,450 hectares of land required for this project, 30 hectares of private land has been acquired.

Additionally, the process of acquiring public and forest land is ongoing. The proposal has been presented to the Union Cabinet for approval after receiving NITI Commission approval.

There is no direct route that connects Nashik with Pune. Travel takes at least six hours. The Railway Ministry has chosen to put the semi-high speed concept into practise to shorten the travel duration. The districts of Pune, Nashik, and Ahmednagar would be crossed by this route. 1,450 hectares of land from 102 localities is required for this. A joint measurement survey for land acquisition and alignment has been completed.

The NITI Commission approved the project in April. According to sources, the Union Cabinet will soon give the final approval.
